Mayweather jr growing up


The life of Floyd "pretty boy" "money" Mayweather jr. An American Athlete in boxing. Floyd was born in 1977 to a family of boxers, boxing was in his blood, his dad Floyd Sr. is a former welter weight contender and his uncle Jeff Mayweather is a former IBO Super Featherweight champion. Floyd was fitted for his first set of boxing gloves at the age of seven. While growing up Floyd's life wasn't normal as everybody else his dad was selling drugs.

During Floyd's high school years he lived with his mother and grandmother in Grand Rapids. When Floyd's grandma got mad he would walk to his mothers house. While growing up his dad was sent to prison for Drug trafficking, and his mother also has delt with substance abuse.

During Mayweathers amateur boxing career he was very fortunate to win the National Golden Gloves. "He won the Golden gloves in 1993, 1994, and 1996". Floyd finished his amateur boxing career with an astounding 84 wins with only 6 losses. With his amateur career finished his pre-professional career ended bitterly in Atlanta Georgia at the 1996 Olympic Games when he lost and took a bronze medal, he lost by a controversial decision.

"Mayweather started his professional boxing career in October of 1996. Mayweather continued to win at an astonishing rate. Within mayweathers first two years of becoming a professional boxer her captured his first title and it was the WBC junior lightweight championship".After that mayweathers professional career as a boxer accelerated a lot more in 2000
